Be Still

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! (Psalm 46:10)
We live in a busy world. It is full of activities and entertainment that can draw our attention away from the Lord. It’s so important that we make time to spend with the Lord in prayer and reading His Word. If we don’t, the time will get sucked up into other things.
Really be honest with yourself, is spending time with friends, watching TV or surfing the internet more important to you than spending time with God? You may say “no,” but do your actions prove otherwise? Many of us say that God is the most important thing, yet the cares of everyday life often leave us too busy to spend our one-on-one time with the Lord.
It’s time to make a change and place God first, where He deserves to be.
If we don’t make God a priority in our lives, He will just get our leftovers, and that’s not what He wants in our relationship with Him. You have to set aside time each day and make an effort to spend time with the Lord. There will always be things that will try and sneak in and steal that time away.
The Devil doesn’t want you to have that one-on-one time with God everyday because he knows that the more time you spend with the Lord, the stronger and stronger you will become. Satan will plan to keep you too busy and bring things across your path to distract you from spending your time with the Lord.
When the above verse says to be still and know that I am God, it simply means take time out of your busy life to remind yourself that no matter what is going on God is still God.
He is the King of the universe and nothing can change that. God is in control of your circumstances, not you. Even when things don’t look good, trust in the Lord and know that He is God and He loves you. Be still and give Him the time He deserves. You are what is most important to Him, make Him what’s most important to you.

I know what you mean about being busy… I prayed for the LORD ALMIGHTY to give me a successful business for HIS glory, and now I am sometimes too busy to read HIS word! I thank GOD though for HIS constant love, and everytime I read the Bible I still feel blessed and so at peace… It is truly a challenge but if we list our priorities then we will always MAKE time for HIM…HE does for us…
