It all comes down to the condition of the heart. if the Spirit is indeed living inside of you, you will bear the fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control), and it will be consistent. It will not only be for others to see. It will also happen when no one else is looking. It will be who you are.

Today marks the first day of Lent for many Christian traditions. In case you were wondering, Lent is not the annoying fuzz balls you can’t get off of your sweater, but rather the 40 days leading up to Easter. It is a time meant to symbolize the 40 days that Jesus spent in the wilderness where he endured temptation by Satan.

Do you ever feel like being a Christian is just too hard? Like it’s impossible beat temptations? We all have our own personal temptations that we struggle with most. Sometimes it just feels like we’re set up for failure. The truth? It is too hard to overcome temptations through our own strength; we are human and our very nature is sinful. It is Christ in us who gives us strength.

It’s all about perspective. What is your perspective when you get bad news? It’s easy to get caught up with the circumstance you are facing. Next time you are facing bad news, dealing with temptation or going through a tough situation try changing your perspective and look at it from Gods point of view.
